Boyd's High Desert is a unisex scent that sets the brightness of coriander and Texan grapefruit against a smoky, resinous base of vetiver, birch tar and labdanum. Its longevity is rated moderate and its sillage good, and nearly half of those who rated longevity find it strong. Season and occasion votes are too thin to point to a particular time of year, but it reads as neither strictly masculine nor feminine. Boyd's TX Lavender is a fresh, fougère-style unisex scent that sets bergamot, geranium and lemon against lavender and vetiver. It opens green and bright with bergamot, geranium and lemon. In the heart, lavender, vetiver, tonka bean and frankincense turn it floral, a little spicy and faintly sweet. The base of oak, labdanum, cedar and clary sage settles into a woody, powdery, resinous and lightly smoky finish. Longevity is rated good and sillage moderate, so it stays noticeable up close without filling a room. Its fougère build and fresh accords suit men and women alike. Dunhill Edition (Eau de Toilette) and Floris Vetiver (Eau de Toilette) have a close profile.
