Florentia

Paglieri · 2016

Floral · Sweet · Spicy

Paglieri Florentia is a sweet, spicy and leathery unisex scent that suits fall and winter evenings. Longevity is rated strong and sillage good. Most voters pick fall and winter; it is worn for evenings and nights out, and also for leisure. Masculine and feminine votes are equal, so it sits between the two. It opens with Italian bergamot, clove and rose. In the heart, leather, iris, Java vetiver, styrax and cedarwood come forward; in the base, patchouli, sandalwood, tonka bean, myrrh and amber close it with a sweet, powdery, resinous warmth. A smoky, woody backdrop runs through it. Parfum d'Empire Cuir Ottoman and Tom Ford Noir (Eau de Parfum) have a close profile.

Agrigentum

7.2

Paglieri · 2016

Citrus · Floral · Fruity

Paglieri Agrigentum opens with lemon, mandarin orange and marzipan and settles into praliné and vanilla, a gourmand floral classed as unisex. In the top, lemon, mandarin orange and orange blossom give a bright citrus lift, while marzipan adds a sugared almond touch. Ylang-ylang, violet and almond carry a creamy floral softness through the heart. The base leans on praliné, vanilla and tonka bean for sweetness, with patchouli and blackcurrant keeping it from turning too sugary. The overall impression is fruity, sweet and slightly synthetic. Longevity and sillage are both moderate. Most voters pick fall and spring, and use is spread across leisure, evening and nights out. It is mostly seen as feminine and modern in character.

Venetiae

7.1

Paglieri · 2016

Fresh · Floral · Sweet

Paglieri Venetiae is a unisex scent that pairs a fresh opening of geranium, rose and marine notes with a warm, spicy base of saffron, oud, patchouli and amber. Voters rate its longevity as good and its sillage as moderate. It leans towards autumn and spring, with winter and summer close behind, and is picked most for evenings, leisure and nights out. More voters call it feminine than masculine, but a fair share see it as masculine, so it sits comfortably on either side. It opens fresh and floral, with Egyptian geranium, rose and marine notes, while cinnamon adds a touch of spice. The heart of saffron, Moroccan mimosa, oud and freesia turns that floral sweetness towards the oriental. It dries down woody, resinous and sweet, on Indonesian patchouli, sandalwood, cedar, tonka bean and amber.

Amalphia

7.2

Paglieri · 2016

Fresh · Citrus · Floral

Paglieri Amalphia is a fresh, citrus-led unisex scent that most voters pick for spring and summer and that suits easy daytime wear. Its longevity and sillage are rated moderate, so it neither fades quickly nor announces itself. Voters place it mostly in leisure, daily and business settings, with evening and night out well behind. On character, feminine leads, though masculine takes a sizeable share too. It opens on yuzu, grapefruit and bergamot, a bright citrus layer. In the heart, water lily, rose and white tea push that freshness towards floral and green, while cardamom adds a light spice. The base of amber, musk and white cedarwood leaves it soft, slightly sweet and woody.
