Fresh · Floral · Green

Revillon Turbulences is a chypre-leaning women's fragrance that opens with green notes, mint and bergamot and carries rose and tuberose at its heart; it has been discontinued. The top pairs green notes, mint, caraway and bergamot for a fresh, sharp start. In the heart, rose, tuberose, ylang-ylang and orris root give a floral, powdery face, with carnation, nutmeg and pepper adding spice. The base settles on vetiver, sandalwood, cedar, musk, vanilla and amber, woody and sweet. Longevity is rated strong and sillage good. Most voters pick fall and spring, with summer and winter further back. It leans towards leisure, daytime and evening wear. Caron Nocturnes and Anaïs Anaïs have a close profile.

Eau de Toilette

Revillon French Line Eau de Toilette is a spicy, woody men's fragrance that sets the freshness of bergamot, coriander and lemon against jasmine, rose and a leather-and-patchouli base; it has been discontinued. It opens fresh and citrusy with bergamot, lemon, coriander, basil and artemisia. The heart turns floral and spicy, with caraway, jasmine, rose, carnation and orris root. The base settles into a sweet, earthy, leathery ground of coconut, musk, amber, leather and patchouli. A fougère and chypre character runs through it. Voters find its longevity strong and its sillage good. It is chosen mostly for evenings and nights out, while daily and office wear come further behind. It reads as a men's fragrance. Ungaro pour L'Homme II and Giorgio Beverly Hills Red for Men have a close profile.

Eau de Toilette

Revillon pour Homme Eau de Toilette is a discontinued men's fragrance that sets a green, spicy character on a woody, resinous and smoky base. It opens with rosemary, lavender and petitgrain in a fresh, herbal start, with davana sweetening the greenery slightly. The heart brings geranium, carnation, pine needle and cinnamon, giving it a spicy, resinous air. In the base, fir, moss, cedarwood and tonka bean leave a woody, earthy and faintly animal finish. Its longevity and sillage are rated as good, though that view rests on a small number of votes. Voters lean towards daytime and evening wear, with leisure, nights out and business use following. It reads as a classic, masculine profile. Atkinsons Ghibli and Caron Yatagan have a close profile.

Eau de Toilette

Revillon R Eau de Toilette is a fresh, green-edged men's fragrance built around spruce needle, cinnamon and lavender; it has been discontinued. Longevity is rated good and sillage moderate, so it stays close to the wearer rather than filling a room. The ratings rest on only a handful of votes, so they point to a tendency rather than a firm measure. It reads as masculine. The notes sit together without a top, heart and base split: spruce needle and rosemary give a green coolness, while cinnamon and carnation add spice. Lavender and fern set the fougère tone, cedarwood and moss supply a woody, earthy floor, and tonka bean softens the dryness slightly.
