Nude (1990) (Cologne)

Bill Blass · 1990

Fresh · Floral · Green

Bill Blass Nude (Cologne) is a fresh, green and powdery floral chypre made for women, easy to wear by day and in spring. It has been discontinued. Most voters pick spring, followed by fall, and daily and leisure wear lead the occasions. Longevity is rated good and sillage moderate. More than half of voters call it feminine, and some find it classic. Aldehydes, bergamot, rosemary and galbanum open fresh and green. The heart gathers rose, narcissus, jasmine and ylang-ylang into a floral core, with lichen carrying the chypre character. Vetiver, sandalwood, iris and musk leave a woody, powdery base.

Moss Maiden

6.8

Alkemia · 2013

Fresh · Green · Spicy

Alkemia Moss Maiden is a green, woody scent that leans towards spring, fall and summer, and suits leisure time and evenings best. Most voters pick spring, fall and summer, while winter gets the fewest votes. Leisure and evening wear dominate, though some wear it to the office too. Longevity and sillage are moderate. Voters split evenly between masculine and feminine, so although it was released in 2013 as a women's perfume, its gender lean is not clear-cut. Balsam fir, galbanum, fern and moss lead the scent, while incense and lichen add a smoky, earthy depth. It reads as a fresh, green forest, softened by spicy and resinous tones. Alkemia Gaea and Slumberhouse Norne share a close profile.

Melle Cléo

7.2

Les Cocottes de Paris · 2015

Fresh · Floral · Fruity

Les Cocottes de Paris Melle Cléo is a fresh, floral and fruity women's fragrance built around bergamot, lychee and rose, with belle de nuit flower at its centre. Melle Cléo is rated good for both longevity and sillage. Votes are spread almost evenly across the seasons, with fall and winter only slightly ahead. Voters pick it most for nights out and evenings, and it also works for leisure time. It reads feminine. It opens with bergamot, Brazilian rosewood and lychee, a fresh and fruity start. The heart turns floral with belle de nuit flower, rose and ylang-ylang, with sweet and spicy touches alongside. Cotton flower and lichen in the base settle it into a powdery, creamy and woody finish.
