D.S. & Durga Sir is a masculine chypre that joins the brightness of grapefruit and bergamot to rose absolute, then settles on labdanum, patchouli and oakmoss.
Most voters pick it for fall and winter, with spring a distant third and summer rarely chosen. Evenings, leisure time and nights out come up most often. Longevity and sillage are both rated good. It reads masculine and classic to most, though a fair number find it feminine. It has been discontinued.
It opens fresh and fruity with grapefruit, bergamot and mandarin orange. Rose absolute and benzoin bring a floral, resinous softness to the heart, with green and spicy touches alongside. The base turns earthy, smoky and faintly animal, built on labdanum, patchouli and oakmoss.
