Guilty Absolute pour Homme

Gucci · 2017

Spicy · Woody · Animal

Gucci Guilty Absolute pour Homme is a woody, spicy and leathery men's fragrance built around Goldenwood®, patchouli and Woodleather®, and it has been discontinued. The notes carry no top, heart and base split, so the scent reads as one piece: Goldenwood®, patchouli, Nootka cypress, Woodleather® and vetiver. It is woody and spicy with earthy and resinous sides, a smoky, leathery edge gives it a dry, firm character, and an animal accord adds warmth. Longevity is rated strong and sillage good. Most voters pick fall and winter, and very few choose summer. It is mentioned most for evenings and nights out. It reads masculine and classic. Initio Divine Attraction and Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle Monsieur. have a close profile.

Leisure, business and daily use are rated at similar levels. Longevity and sillage are both moderate, and most voters read it as masculine. It opens with ginger, juniper berry and geranium, giving a spicy, crisp start. The heart brings sandalwood, orris concrete and artemisia, and the base settles on Nootka cypress, musk and Clearwood™ for a woody foundation. Sweet and synthetic tones sit alongside. Blasted Heath

7.0

Penhaligon's · 2015

Fresh · Aquatic · Green

Penhaligon's Blasted Heath is a men's fragrance that sets the fresh air of seagrass and aquatic notes against the dry woodiness of tobacco, whisky and vetiver. Longevity is rated good and sillage moderate, so it stays close rather than filling a room. Most voters pick summer and spring, and use leans towards leisure, daily wear and the office. Most find it masculine, with some also calling it classic. It opens with clary sage, seagrass and aquatic notes, giving a salty, green freshness. In the heart, Clearwood, green leaves, tobacco and whisky soften that freshness with a spicy warmth. The base of gaiac wood, patchouli, musk, Nootka cypress and vetiver settles into a woody foundation, with a slightly synthetic, aquatic character throughout. Dsquared² Original Wood and Jaguar Pace have a close profile.

L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme Sport Polar Expedition

7.8

Issey Miyake · 2015

Fresh · Citrus · Floral

Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme Sport Polar Expedition is a fresh, aquatic men's fragrance with a cool, sporty character built on citrus and green tones. Taken as a whole, it leans on citrus: finger lime and grapefruit zest give it a bright, lightly fruity snap. Nootka cypress adds a woody backbone, while Hivernal® rounds out the cool picture. Floral and green accords stay in the background, and the fougère touch keeps it clean. Voters rate its longevity and sillage as moderate, though the small number of votes makes that a loose read. It is classed as a men's fragrance and suits warm days, post-workout wear or easy everyday use. Atelier des Ors Pomelo Riviera and Kilian Water Calligraphy have a close profile.
