Virtuous Oud

Zara · 2023

Fresh · Citrus · Aquatic

Zara Virtuous Oud is a fresh, citrusy and aquatic woody scent for men, leaning towards spring and summer days. Longevity and sillage are both moderate. Most voters pick spring and summer, autumn comes behind, and winter is the least chosen season. Business, daily wear and leisure are the most mentioned settings, with some votes for evening and night out as well. It opens with calone, lemon and bergamot for a bright start. The heart holds white oud, ambroxan, white musk, lavender and floral notes, and the oud stays light and clean rather than heavy. Vetiver, patchouli and sandalwood form a green, woody base. The fresh accord leads, while the spicy and synthetic touches stay in the background.

To My Father

8.0

Vilhelm Parfumerie · 2022

Fruity · Sweet · Gourmand

Vilhelm Parfumerie To My Father is a sweet, smoky men's fragrance in which whisky, oak and leather carry the weight. Longevity is rated strong and sillage good. Most voters pick fall and winter, and night out, leisure and evening are the occasions it leans towards. It is classed as a men's fragrance. It opens with bitter orange, ambrette seed and davana, which give a fruity brightness. Juniper, whisky and cabreuva form the heart, and oak, white oud and leather pull the base towards woody, resinous and smoky tones. Sweet, gourmand touches soften the spicy, oriental character. Borntostandout Smokin' Gun and Atelier Cologne Gold Leather have a close profile.

Celadon

8.4

Zara · 2024

Floral · Fruity · Sweet

Zara Celadon is a sweet, gourmand men's fragrance that pairs bergamot, pear and jasmine with cocoa, vanilla and amber. The notes read as a single whole rather than separate stages. Pear and bergamot bring a fruity freshness, while jasmine and rose set the floral side. Cocoa and vanilla sweeten it into a creamy gourmand, and amber, white oud and lavender absolute add a spicy, woody, resinous depth. Voters rate its longevity and sillage as good, though the number of votes is small. Its warm, sweet build suits cooler weather. Although it is marketed as a men's fragrance, the floral and gourmand sides soften it. Carrement Belle Ippi Patchouli and Fragonard Rose Ambre have a close profile.
