Shade of Chocolate

Haute Fragrance Company Shade of Chocolate is a gourmand unisex scent built on cocoa and coffee with black fig and rum, suited to fall and winter evenings; it has been discontinued.
It opens with black tea and Italian bergamot, a light lift before the heart. There cocoa, coffee and rum lead, while black fig and jasmine absolute soften the sweetness with a floral, creamy touch. The base of Mysore sandalwood, patchouli, tonka bean and Haitian vetiver adds a woody, earthy ground.
Longevity and sillage are both rated good. Most voters pick fall and winter, and evening and night out are the occasions named most often. Votes split between feminine and masculine, so it sits comfortably in between. Lorenzo Pazzaglia Van Py Rhum and KoRo Oriental Coffee have a close profile.
