Scent 30

Cognoscenti · 2016

Fresh · Floral · Green

Cognoscenti Scent 30 is a woody, smoky and leathery unisex scent built on oak wood, leather and resins, leaning towards evenings and nights out. Its longevity is rated good and its sillage moderate. Voters split it between leisure, evening and night-out wear, with daytime and business use getting fewer votes. Oak wood, leather and benzoin form a smoky, slightly sweet resinous core, deepened by labdanum and frankincense. Immortelle, hay, lavender and birch leaf pull it towards a fresh, green side, while vetiver keeps the woody feel going. Loewe 7 Anónimo and Serge Lutens Encens et lavande have a close profile.

Cognoscenti · 2012

Floral · Green · Spicy

Cognoscenti Scent 16 is a unisex fragrance with a resinous, smoky and leathery character, softened by floral and green touches over a woody, earthy body. It reads as a whole rather than in stages: leather, tobacco and oud build a smoky base, while benzoin, frankincense and myrrh add resinous warmth. Linden blossom and tomato leaf bring a floral, green freshness, and clary sage steadies the spicy side. Longevity and sillage are rated good by those who voted, though the number of votes is small. It suits men and women alike, and with its heavy, smoky notes it feels easier to wear in cooler weather.
