Eau de Patou (1976)
8.2Jean Patou · 1976
Fresh · Citrus · Floral
Jean Patou Eau de Patou is a fresh, citrusy chypre, green, floral and lightly spicy, a daytime women's scent that has since been discontinued.
Longevity is rated good and sillage moderate, so it stays noticeable up close without filling a room. Most voters pick spring and summer, with daily and leisure wear leading and office use close behind. It reads mostly feminine, though a fair share of voters call it masculine.
The top has orange and citrus fruits. In the heart, Indian cress, honeysuckle, ylang-ylang, orange blossom and pepper build a floral, lightly spicy body. The base of musk, amber, civet and oakmoss settles it into a woody chypre with an animal edge. Jasper Conran Mistress and Vivienne Westwood Libertine have a close profile.
