Jean-Charles Brosseau Fruit de Bois is a men's fragrance that sets the brightness of bergamot and grapefruit against the woody warmth of nutmeg, juniper and vetiver. It opens with bergamot, grapefruit and gentian, giving a citrusy, slightly bitter freshness. In the heart, nutmeg and juniper add a spicy tone, while geranium and clary sage lean it toward the floral side. Vetiver, sandalwood, cedarwood and amber then settle into a woody, resinous and faintly creamy base in the dry-down. The accords also carry a fruity, sweet streak, yet the scent stays balanced between citrus and wood from start to finish. Geo. F. Trumper Sandalwood Cologne and Widian Baniyas have a close profile.
