The three notes lean on each other: labdanum brings a resinous, slightly animal warmth, vanilla sweetens it, and patchouli lays an earthy, woody floor underneath. Beyond the sweetness, the accords add spicy, powdery and smoky tones, and the whole has a clearly oriental character.

The notes are not split into layers, so the scent reads as one dense, warm impression from start to finish. With its powdery softness set against a dark, resinous body, it has a profile close to Serge Lutens Ambre sultan (Eau de Parfum) and Michele Bergman Black Amber.
