Jatamansi / L'Eau de Jatamansi

Longevity is moderate and sillage weak, so it stays close to the skin. Most voters pick spring, summer and fall, and the occasions named most often are leisure, daily wear and the office. Votes split almost evenly between masculine and feminine, so it sits somewhere in between. It has been discontinued.

It opens fresh and slightly green with grapefruit, bergamot and clary sage. In the heart, ylang-ylang and Turkish rose add a soft, lightly sweet floral note. The base settles into a woody, spicy and resinous footing of Indian papyrus, gaiac wood and Australian sandalwood. Spikenard runs through all three layers, quietly tying the scent together.
