What does Santo Domingo smell like?

The opening is bright and fresh, built on three citrus notes. In the heart, Bourbon geranium and coriander add a green, spicy edge. The base is led by Dominican tobacco, vetiver and Indonesian patchouli, drying down to a woody, smoky tone. Beside the fresh, floral and green accords there are oriental, chypre and fougère touches, so it feels more layered than a plain citrus cologne. L'Artisan Parfumeur Mon Numéro 9 and Etro Palais Jamais have a close profile.
