What does Afrikaan Botany smell like?

It is floral and spicy: ylang-ylang, jasmine and gardenia carry the flowers, while cardamom and cannabis add a spicy, slightly green edge. Cedar, cocoa and vanilla bring a woody, resinous warmth, and castoreum and hyraceum give it an animalic, leathery depth. There is a powdery side too, and a chypre character runs through the whole.

Longevity and sillage are rated good. Most voters place it in fall and spring, and mostly pick it for leisure and evening wear. It has been discontinued. Rouge Hermès and Pierre de Velay No. 47 have a close profile.
