It opens with leather, cedar and saffron, which give it a dry, spicy start. In the heart, oud, sandalwood and papyrus build a woody core, with green and earthy shades staying at its edges. The base of amber, ebony and patchouli leaves a resinous, smoky warmth, while fruity and sweet accords soften the harder lines a little. Animal and leathery touches give it a dark, oriental feel. Zara Exclusive Oud and Mancera Black to Black have a close profile.
