Fir balsam and frankincense give it a resinous, woody frame, while liquorice and aniseed soften that frame with a spicy, gourmand sweetness. Amber notes wrap the whole in a powdery warmth, and the green side keeps the sweetness from turning sugary. The smoky accord stays in the background, holding the blend somewhere between cool and warm. It reads as one piece, with the notes leaning on each other rather than standing out one by one.
