It opens with clove, cardamom, cumin and black pepper, a warm, spicy start that Calabrian bergamot and Brazilian orange lighten only briefly. In the heart, ylang-ylang, Bulgarian rose and nutmeg add a floral, spiced softness. The base of civet, musk, Singapore patchouli, ambergris and Bourbon vanilla settles into a dark, ambery and slightly sweet finish. Xerjoff Amphorae 39 and Anomalia Umbra Oud have a close profile.
