What does Cheval d'Arabie smell like?

It opens with Persian and Taif rose otto, saffron and Omani frankincense, with elemi resin adding a resinous edge. The heart brings hay absolute, leather, narcissus and Indian patchouli, while oud and civet continue underneath. In the base, castoreum, black and white ambergris, benzoin and mimosa soften it; the result is a woody, smoky, earthy and leathery oriental.

Its longevity is rated very strong and its sillage strong, and most voters score both highly. With its dense, characterful build it reads neither masculine nor feminine and makes itself noticed. Meo Fusciuni Varanasi and Dixit & Zak Emperor Hind have a close profile.
